About this book

Having rescued Tomos from enchantment, Seren Rhys is enjoying life as his newly adopted sister. That is, until the unexpected arrival of a mysterious governess, who nobody remembers recruiting, and who brings with her a strangely hypnotic wind-up carousel.

As Tomos falls further under the spell of the sinister toy, and becomes ever more detached from Seren and his family, malevolent creatures begin to roam the house at night causing unexplained chaos. And the governess makes sure that it’s Seren who gets the blame.

Tension builds from almost the first page in this creepy and unsettling tale of faerie folk which is best read with the lights on. With echoes of the more disconcerting aspects of Alice in Wonderland and traditional folk tales, deception is all around and nothing it what it seems.

The Velvet Fox is the second book of The Clockwork Crow trilogy which can be read as a stand-alone story but is best enjoyed in its appropriate place in the series.
