The Night Train

Some very special passengers embark on a magical journey aboard the Night Train. There’s a hairy white yeti, Princess May with her pet dragon Ruby, Henri the ballet dancer and a scary-looking monster who is actually very friendly. Their destination is Sleepy Town, where each passenger will become the main character in a child’s dream.  

As the train hurtles along, Charles the guard checks everyone’s ticket and the passengers share stories about their dreamworld adventures. They are all startled when the train suddenly shudders to a stop, as a large tree has fallen on the track. Charles is frantic: the train must arrive in Sleepy Town by midnight or the passengers will be too late to enter the dreams of their sleepers, but he can’t move the obstacle by himself. The passengers must work together to get the train moving again, but do they have the skills? 

This imaginative, wintery tale for newly confident readers highlights the importance of courage, resourcefulness and team work to overcome obstacles. The short chapters feature colourful, expressive illustrations, which are full of character and help to bring the story to life.
