About this book

Crocodile and Tiger are both feeling as sleepy as can be, and they both need someone to give them a goodnight kiss. Unfortunately, no one will, until they find their parents in the middle of the book who are always there to help them into dreamland.

Following the format of Dunbar and McLaughlin’s previous bestselling picture book The Hug, The Kiss can be started from either end of the book and rotated upside down when readers reach the middle. This means that there are two little animals’ stories within the book, and two little ones who have perhaps surprising mums and dads – Tiger’s daddy is a crocodile, and Crocodile’s mummy is a tiger, providing an early and gentle introduction of the idea of blended families.

A delightful, cosy book for bedtime, The Kiss features soft, adorable illustrations from Polly Dunbar who is brilliant at creating cute animal characters, and a simple yet warm text from Eoin McLaughlin.
