About this book
Ali lives on the Great Green Island with her dad, a fisherman.
There are so many amazing coves, branches, rocks, and bugs to discover that Ali is always asking everyone on the island to come along on her exploring missions – but they’re too busy selling and cooking fish and mending nets.
However, one day, all the fish in the sea around the island disappear, and no-one on the island has anything to do. When Ali and her dad go to investigate, they find a mysterious cave and follow some shimmering scales to find a huge cavern full of the missing fish.
And when the cavern does a big burp, they realise that they might be inside something a little more unusual than a cave…
Becky Colvin’s beautiful picture book about adventure, nature and family is full of delightful detail, and reminds us of the need to stop and be in the moment now and again.
