About this book
Nancy loves stories and can always be found with her nose buried in a good book. One day, while reading in the garden, her cat Pangur is stolen by faeries and spirited away into the forest. Desperate to save him, she pleads with the Faery King – offering cakes, biscuits even gold in exchange for her cat, but to no avail. Then Nancy has an idea. She promises to read stories to the faeries every new moon, becoming the first and only storyteller for the Faery Kingdom.
Just as in the classic 1,001 Arabian Nights this book is built around stories within a story, each one filled with wonder and imagination. There’s a story about a dream-weaving giantess, a mysterious hat shop, a ghost dragon, and many more besides. Every standalone tale is complimented by generous full-colour illustrations from Andrew Whitson which immerse the reader in the action.
This enchanting book would be perfect for bedtime stories and, just like the Faery King, children will be clamouring to hear them again and again.
