About this book
In this incredible book we find out what our brains are and how they work.
We learn a bit of fascinating history on who discovered what our brains are and how they work, plus read about possible futures for our brains.
It’s all so thrillingly and amusingly told with the help of a sneering octopus (who has brains in their tentacles). Moose Allain’s illustrations are very funny and informative too.
Like all the best children’s non-fiction, this book manages to explain really difficult stuff succinctly and entertainingly.
It delves deep, for example, into the ‘consciousness conundrum’ and even has an Emily Dickinson quote in it, but somehow manages to be an easy read. And there's great food for thought on artificial intelligence (AI) and how social media impacts our mental health.
It’s a book to spark the neurons of curious 10-year-olds and beyond.
