About this book
Felix and Nano are brothers and best friends. They love to wrestle, use secret code words, play dino smash monster trucks, explore the lava caves of doom (under the sofa cushions) and hang out in their super cool treehouse.
However, one day, Felix doesn’t want to play with Nano. Mum tells Nano that he needs to give Felix some space, so he rather bad-temperedly goes to play on his own. At first, Nano hates solo play, but, when he makes a cool umbrella house, he starts to like it. Yet, when the wind blows everything away, Nano stomps off inside – until Felix builds him his own amazing tent space, under the tree house.
Ben Mantle’s sweet, quirky and affectionate story about brothers and learning to give your sibling space sometimes – especially as the clingier younger sibling – will ring true for plenty of young readers. There’s a lovely happy ending for both brothers, one who has learned to respect boundaries, and one who realises that too much time on his own might be a little lonely.
The vocabulary is slightly more complex than a standard picture book, meaning that this will appeal to mid-primary readers rather than early years children. A really lovely book.

Picture books about siblings
Siblings can be frustrating at times, but they can also be the best of playmates. This selection of picture books is not about getting a new sibling, but about existing brothers and sisters that share in all the fun at home and when out and about.
