About this book
Pip loves to immerse himself in nature, where he feels he can truly be himself.
His absolute favourite time of year is swanfall, when the first winter snow signals the return of the Arctic swans to their nesting ground in the wetlands, near Pip’s house. But he is full of concern when one of his favourite swans, Moonshadow, doesn’t return.
Meanwhile, Pip discovers an old leather-bound book in the mobile library, and is intrigued to find an ancient letter and a swan feather hidden between the pages.
The letter tells the tragic tale of the Children of Lir, three siblings who mysteriously disappeared on the river without a trace many years before.
Pip and his friends begin to wonder if the fates of the missing children and the swans are connected. Soon, they are drawn deeper into a chilling mystery of witches, spells and ghosts, which puts them all in terrible danger.
Inspired by Irish folklore, this enthralling tale is beautifully written and will send shivers down the spine of even the bravest of readers.
