Stella loves space and is thrilled to be on holiday with her family at the Galaxy Space Hotel as it orbits the Earth. Her brother Ryan is less enthusiastic and would rather experience the cosmos through virtual reality games.

The siblings take a trip to the International Space Station Museum, but during the tour, the guide receives an urgent warning: a major solar flare, with dangerously high levels of radiation, is heading their way.

As everyone races back to the shuttle, Ryan forgets to clip on to the safety line and spins into outer space, so Stella jets after him before he's lost forever. Stella must use her knowledge of the stars to navigate them to safety and Ryan's skills as a virtual reality spaceship commander prove extremely useful.  

This tense, thrilling, futuristic tale is an exhilarating read. It's the second story in Chris Bradford’s Cosmos trilogy, a series of standalone, accessible space adventures for junior readers.

Short chapters create natural breaks, helping to increase stamina, while the content is carefully edited to reduce barriers to reading. The special dyslexia-friendly font helps to avoid blurring and switching, and the black and white illustrations provide a visual narrative which complements the text.
