About this book
Eddie the dog loves to travel super fast on his scooter, but when it's damaged in a crash, he's forced to slow down and walk everywhere.
His friend Thelma the tortoise gently suggests that Eddie uses this scooter-free time to experiment with a different pace of life. As they take a leisurely stroll, Thelma points out some interesting things she's spotted, such as a cat wearing a bow tie and a door knocker shaped like an elephant.
After a while, Eddie starts to pay more attention to his surroundings and is amazed at just how many things he can see, hear, and smell when he slows down.
This delightfully funny picture book is bursting with glorious, vibrant illustrations. These become more detailed as the story progresses, reflecting Eddie's increasing levels of engagement with the world around him. Children will love to look for the items hidden within the pictures, and this will naturally encourage them to develop their observation skills.
The book would also work well as a bedtime read, as it's sure to help energetic toddlers slow their pace and calm down at the end of a busy day.
