About this book
14-year-old Galaxy knows she’s going to be a singing star. She has the voice and the lyrics.
She signs up for the school talent show as her first step to stardom. But then she gets to know Sabrina, the school troublemaker. And, much to her best friend’s disgust, soon Galaxy finds herself forming a rock band with Sabrina, shy Grace, and her own little sister.
But being in a band means having to compromise, and Galaxy always knows best. Plus, her bestie wants her to hang out with her at lunchtimes. What’s a future star going to do?
This very relatable story covers familiar ground of friendship worries, sibling tension and the desire to be famous, but does it in a fresh way.
Interestingly, Galaxy herself isn’t always entirely likeable. The reader recognises something the narrator can’t – namely, that she’s being self-centred. However, she’s good at heart, of course, and this story provides a lot to be considered concerning first impressions and who really is a true friend.
A fun yet thought-provoking teen read.
