About this book

Bob the frog doesn’t look much like his rabbit brothers and sisters. He’s much smaller, he doesn’t have a fluffy tail, and he’s green… oh, and he’s a frog.

This means that Bob excels at lily-pad leaping, swimming and eating flies, but not so much at the more traditional rabbit activities such as eating carrots and nose-twitching. But that’s okay, because Bob’s rabbit family love him regardless of their differences. And, if anyone else picks on Bob for being different, the rabbits have Bob’s back…

This lovely rhyming picture book about families and being different is a sweet, fun read with a nice message about acceptance and belonging. The rhyme bounces along with a pleasing rhythm for reading aloud, and Gareth Conway’s rabbits are super cute – as is Bob, of course.

About the author

Roald Dahl Funny Prize winning author Philip Ardagh is the author of The Grunts. He is probably best known for his Eddie Dickens adventures, translated into over thirty languages, and for his Grubtown Tales, but he is author of over 100 books. He collaborated with Sir Paul McCartney on the ex-Beatle’s only children’s book, and wrote the BBC’s first truly interactive radio series, Arthur Story and the Department of historical Correction. He is a 'regular irregular' reviewer of children’s books for The Guardian, and is currently developing a series for television. Philip Ardagh is two metres tall with a ridiculously big, bushy beard and size sixteen feet, making him an instantly recognisable figure at literary festivals around the world.
