About this book
Bear is tucked up in bed reading his brand-new book when there’s a knock at the door: it’s Goldilocks, and she wants some porridge. Bear lets her in and rushes back up to bed to finish his book, but there’s another knock on the door: this time it’s Red Riding Hood. Then, it’s the Three Little Pigs, and then a suspiciously hairy granny. Will everyone just leave poor Bear alone to finish his book?
Yet, when Bear realises that the last visitor wasn’t granny at all, he rushes downstairs to find that the Big Bad Wolf has eaten everyone, and is just about to tuck into the last Little Pig. With some quick thinking, Bear saves the day – but will he ever manage to finish his book?
Mucha and Boutavant’s hilarious fairy tale-themed picture book is partly a Goldilocks retelling and partly a humorous tale about demanding friends, but it’s also an homage to book lovers and the love of reading. Boutavant’s stunning illustrations are to be pored over and enjoyed, with plenty of quirky details to spot.
