About this book
When horse-mad Tilly calms a terrified runaway horse, it’s the beginning of a beautiful connection. She’s always longed for a pony of her own and now she’s the only one who Magic Spirit responds to. At the welcoming Silver Shoe Farm, girl and horse slowly bond, and Tilly learns how to groom, feed and muck out the horses. To add to their connection, she and Magic Spirit both have mysterious pasts – Tilly was adopted as a baby and her oldest possession is a horse-hair bracelet. But will Magic Spirit ever let anyone else get near him?
This is a lovely, gentle tale of wish fulfilment that will delight any reader, especially the horsey ones. It’s the first in an 18-book series, so there are plenty of adventures to read about, and new horses to meet. The author is an extremely experienced equestrian and her knowledge of – and love for – horses shines through. There are lots of practical tips throughout the story and at the end, but it’sthe growing bond between Tilly and Magic Spirit that will keep the reader coming back.
