About this book
Meet Pia, a self-proclaimed animal expert and friend to pets of all shapes and sizes.
She and her (annoying) sister have recently moved into their dad’s new flat, and Pia is desperately bored. More than anything she wants a pet of her own, a dog being the dream, but no matter how hard she campaigns, her parents refuse.
When she meets a new friend from the neighbourhood who is struggling with a naughty young puppy, she hopes that by training it up, she will prove to her parents once and for all that she is responsible enough for a dog. But Luna the puppy has other ideas and proves almost impossible to train.
Not daunted, the resourceful Pia forms a Pet Club of children from the apartment complex, coming up with new and inventive ways to train the unruly pup and making great friends along the way.
Pia is an instantly likeable protagonist with an infectious energy and a great sense of humour. The doggy antics, funny asides, characterful illustrations and pet facts make this a joy to read, and children will whizz through it and look forward to the next in the series. Superb!
