About this book

Twin bunnies Clover and Sage are ambushed in Dandelion Wood by Big Bad Fox and his gang of dastardly weasels, who want to eat them for dinner. Thankfully, the Ninja Bunnies – Pepper, Camomile, Bay and Huck – leap to their rescue, using their impressive martial arts skills to save the day.

The siblings are delighted when the Ninja Bunnies invite them to join the team. They can’t wait to start training, but after a gruelling session practising nothing but high kicks, they are exhausted. Sensei Hop, the Ninjas’ wise and fearless leader, explains that all good things take time, but the youngsters are frustrated and they quit.

The next day is the school picnic and Big Bad Fox and his weaselly sidekicks are back. Wishing they hadn’t given up so easily, Clover and Sage try to remember what they’ve learned but can they get their classmates to safety and fend off the unwelcome visitors all by themselves?

Short chapters, clear text and fun illustrations in shades of carroty-orange make this an ideal book for children who are ready to develop their independent reading skills. Packed full of action and humour, the story highlights the importance of courage, quick thinking and perseverance.
