About this book

What is it like inside your head? Are your thoughts kind and encouraging? Do they suggest that you do silly things sometimes?

If some of your thoughts are ever confusing or scary, there are ways to make yourself feel better, like talking to someone or focusing on the moment. We all have difficult thoughts sometimes, but we don’t have to believe them.

This comforting book offers practical advice to children for those times when they might be struggling or stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts. The gentle text talks to the reader in a friendly manner, pointing out that often thoughts aren’t helpful, or true.

The gorgeous illustrations show a variety of cute children, and the ‘upsetting’ thoughts are depicted as a grey cloud or a swirl of blue, grey and black.

Importantly, though, the focus throughout is positive. Included at the back is a helpful note to the grown-ups about negative self-talk, which makes this a very useful tool for reading with young children.
