Christmas will be different this year - and not just because it will be spent in a huge rented house. Grandpa has remarried, so George, who never knows what to say, will have to get along with Isla, who is home-schooled, brilliant, and rather scary. 

After a near-miss accident on the way to the house in Lyme Regis, George sees a strange light fall from a high cliff. And not long after, a body is washed up on the beach. Is there any possibility these things could be connected? Or is George’s imagination running away with him? 

Surprisingly, it turns out that Isla loves a mystery just as much as George but, as the pair bond over a common obsession, are they getting in too deep and putting themselves in mortal danger? 

This glorious, gripping whodunnit is as immersive as the deep snow that provides the backdrop to the story and incorporates a realistic portrayal of a blended family. 

Ideal for budding super-sleuths, the clues are cleverly disguised but can be found if you look in the right places. Some great misdirection, a story of ancient treasure, and very poor mobile phone coverage add excitement and just the right amount of jeopardy.
