About this book

Hey you, moving is magic! Can you wriggle like a snake? Climb like a monkey? Leap like a dolphin? Explode into the sky and wiggle and jiggle... then float down to earth, feel grounded and bloom into YOU. Let's get moving!

This joyous picture book is so full of energy that anyone reading it cannot help but be inspired to move their body. As the text says, when you move, you can be anything, and you can be you. What a wonderful message. The gorgeous illustrations show a little girl energetically moving about with different animal friends, and are both soft and bold simultaneously. The words lead the reader through a series of movements, and there's a spread at the back where you're asked to choose which animal dance you would like to do today. Examples include the giraffe tango and the rabbit hop. This gives the child agency in their movement, which is a lovely final touch. This would be fantastic to read with a child or group of children who need waking up or energising.
