About this book
Mo (a puppy) is starting preschool, and he’s a little bit nervous about it. Fortunately, his slightly older brother Matty (also a puppy) is very supportive, helping Mo play at taking the register and cheering Mo up when he gets sad.
On the big day, Mo takes his favourite toy, Mouse, with him to preschool, but he finds he’s actually too busy to be sad – playing with the sand, riding bikes and painting a picture of Mummy. In fact, Mo forgets he has Mouse with him at all!
Mum and Dad are very proud of both their little pups when they get home – what a big day for Matty and Mo!
This charming board book with a simple story will be super reassuring and helpful for little ones starting nursery or preschool. Acknowledging that there might be nerves, Beardshaw reminds young readers that preschool is actually fun – and that home and family are still there when little ones return.
As well as Beardshaw’s cute and appealing illustrations, there are some lovely flaps and a final heart-shaped fold-out that adds to the book’s playful appeal.
