About this book
Infamous trickster god Loki has landed himself in trouble with the ‘All-father’ god Odin. The result? Banishment to Earth in the body of an 11-year-old boy. Now Loki must write daily updates in his diary to show how he is mending his selfish ways. But this is not just any diary – this one knows when Loki is lying and deducts ‘virtue points’ whenever he behaves badly.
Loki has seemingly settled into everyday life at school and has even managed to make some friends – sort of. His talents tend more towards making enemies than friends, though, leading toward some rather major friendship mishaps. Plus there’s the little problem of the elf prince Vinir, who is set on taking vengeance upon Loki for a previous misdemeanour. Loki may be a genius at scheming and talking his way out of trouble, but even he is unsure how he is going to get out of the death duel Vinir has challenged him to. And let’s not even mention the upcoming school fair and his step-brother Thor’s obsession with Frost Giants…
Told in a doodle-packed diary, with lots of Norse mythology, this is a laugh-out-loud lesson in how not to behave! A great choice for reluctant readers.
