Hero Wanted!

About this book
Grace Parker is an unlikely hero. She’s clumsy, not particularly clever at school, and seemingly nowhere near as gifted as her twin brother James.
So Grace is more than a little surprised when she finds herself outside her house, after midnight, in a full suit of armour with a legendary sword and a talking horse. And completely gobsmacked when she, the sword, and the horse enter the bubble state of Brokenshire through a rip in the fabric of space and time that is hidden in Mrs Winterbottom’s shed.
It turns out that Brokenshire is aptly named; the devastation of war is evident all around. And apparently Grace is the only one who can finally secure victory for the People of the Day over the People of the Night.
This very silly but utterly irresistible fantasy adventure is packed with implausible characters and unbelievable plot twists but also has a subtle message about the futility of war and discovering empathy.
Be prepared to meet a guard-shark named Alice, a sensitive spider named Kevin, bomber geese, venom goblins, a vegan T.Rex – and more!
With echoes of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Grace’s adventures in Brokenshire will put a smile on anyone’s face.
