About this book

Goldilocs is tired of being written as a porridge-stealer or a chair-breaker! She doesn't even have golden hair - she has a golden smile, though.

She was simply trying out the three options for a girl in Fairytale Land: witch, evil queen, or princess. But which one is the best for a creative, go-getting girl?

Told from Goldilocs' perspective in bouncing rhyme, this is a truly engaging picture book. It's a fresh take on a very familiar story, and many children will relate to being accused of doing something wrong. Poor Goldilocs!

There's a gentle message about being true to yourself, and even a recipe for Grandad's cornmeal porridge. The rhyme pulls the reader through the text and makes it fun to read aloud, and there's even a repeated refrain to join in with.

Meanwhile, the child can enjoy the warm, friendly illustrations that are full of character; the bears' expressions are fantastic.

This would be great fun to share with a class or group of young children.
