About this book
When Mr Browen asks Ffion to join the boys’ rugby team she’s really not sure about it. After all she doesn’t even play rugby. The boys on the team are sceptical too. But then it turns out Ffion’s grandad used to play for Llanelli. After some practice over the weekend with her grandad in the park, Ffion controls the game against Ysgol y Waun and shows everyone what she can do.
Ffion’s story shows that with a bit of help anyone can achieve anything, even against the odds. The black and white illustrations help bring the rugby to life. This is a book that would appeal to girls and boys, or anyone who likes an underdog.
