About this book
Daisy and Josh are on their summer holidays, but they're bored because their parents are busy working from home.
To keep them entertained, they're taken to a car boot sale where they buy an old, broken-down robot from a strange inventor. Later, at home, the bot is struck by lightning and powers up to become… Dadbot!
Dadbot and the children have plenty of fun out and about, playing in the park and laughing as the friendly robot learns about the world. But when the inventor kidnaps their real dad, the siblings, their mum and Dadbot must come together as a family to save the day.
This is a super fun graphic novel for younger readers from Jack Noel. Dadbot is a loveable character and there are plenty of funny situations as it gets to grips with human language and activities (not to mention printing things out of its bum!)
The ending sees some exciting robo-action and winds up with the family realising the value of spending quality time together.
Children will love the humour in the characterful illustrations and pun-filled writing in this book. The text itself is displayed in an accessible way, making it a great option for the 6+ age-range.
