About this book

Join the irrepressible Boffin Boy (also known as schoolboy Rick Shaw), a teenager who uses his talent for science to solve crimes and fight evil, and his friend Polly as they investigate the mystery of a famous female scientist who is planting trees that look disturbingly like people and animals. Can the pair unravel the mystery and escape the clutches of the dastardly Doctor Daffney?

Both loyal Boffin Boy fans, and those discovering the series for the first time, will enjoy this outlandish adventure. Minimal text, speech bubbles, wacky humour and cool Manga artwork make Boffin Boy books an accessible and ever popular choice.

About the author

David Orme has written over 200 books on all sorts of subjects, including How to be a Pop Star. (He has never been one of those.) He has written serious stories, and non-fiction books on serious subjects, but The Boffin Boy series is his favourite of all the books he has written. This is because they made him laugh when he was writing them! There are 18 books in the series, all brilliantly illustrated by Peter Richardson.
