About this book
The tiny fairy door in Aziza’s bedroom is actually a secret entrance to Shimmerton, the land of the fairies, where she has enjoyed many magical adventures. As Aziza embarks on her next trip, her big brother Otis follows her through the doorway. He is astounded that fairies are real and cannot wait to explore, so Aziza proudly shows him around and introduces him to her friends.
Otis is delighted when he wins a puppy at the spring fete, but quickly discovers that magical puppies are even more mischievous that regular ones. When the cheeky dog steals the enchanted hands from the town clock, the siblings and their fairy friends must find them before sunset or time will stand still, spring will pause and nothing will grow in Shimmerton.
Full of mischief and magic, this delightful tale also explores the importance of taking responsibility for your actions and working together to solve problems. Short chapters, well-spaced text and entertaining black-and-white illustrations make this an ideal tale for independent readers who are gaining in confidence. There are plenty of other adventures to enjoy in this enchanting series, although this story also works well as a stand-alone novel.
