CALLING ALL EARLY YEARS SETTINGS!
Hi, I’m Camilla Reid, Writer in Residence at BookTrust, where we know that reading and sharing stories brings profound and wide-ranging benefits that can have a lifelong positive impact on the lives of children of all ages and backgrounds.
We also know that Early Years settings of all kinds can play an important role in empowering families to start the habit of regular reading at home – so, I’m delighted to launch an exciting new competition for EY settings… with a fabulous prize!
How to enter:
It’s easy! All you have to do is to create an eye-catching initiative in your EY setting which communicates the power of early years shared reading at home and encourages your preschool families to start reading books together more. It could be:
- A cute board-book mini lending library/shelf
- A beautiful noticeboard display
- A cosy family shared-reading area
- An innovative hand-out
- A digital post or newsletter
…it’s up to you – you know your families best and what will grab their attention! Send a photo of your creations to [email protected]
Entries must be submitted by 11pm on Friday, 15 August 2025.
The prize
The EY setting that comes up with the most inspiring entry will win a bumper collection of 20 board books for their setting – Camilla Reid’s Top Ten Brilliant Books for Babies PLUS 10 signed copies of Camilla Reid’s most recent books.
All the best entries – and the winning entry, of course – will be featured on BookTrust’s website and social media so you can all inspire other early years settings to follow your lead!
