Our new Writer in Residence Matt Goodfellows shares what he’ll be focusing on over the next six months.
And I’m really looking forward to introducing my theme over the next few months, which is voice and choice. This is something that is really, really important to me as a writer.
I think it’s really powerful that young people are allowed to see that their voice matters, and their voice has power.

I’m looking forward to talking to a lot of my favourite authors and poets about their voices and their choices, and working out ways in which families and young people can access books that allows them to see themselves and to hear themselves.
And to say to young people that voice is power. And that choice is power.
So I’m really excited. I can’t wait to see the things that we can do.
