Follow that Bear if you Dare

Publisher: Little Tiger Press

Hare thinks he loves bears, so he buys a book which he thinks will help him catch one.

Freedman and Edgson have produced an intriguing picturebook, in which key elements of the text lie on the pages of a book about bear hunting which Hare and Podgy Rabbit are using. This book within the book, guides the animals (and the readers) with clearly printed text, a splendid sense of humour and helpful illustrations! While the main text is prose, there are several examples of rhyming words within it, with the instruction book completely in rhyme.

Reassuringly, Little Bear’s mummy calls him in for beans on toast, but in the last spread readers learn that bears actually prefer hares and rabbit pie…
