COLOURS: A Walk in the Countryside

Publisher: Nosy Crow

A young girl and boy play in the countryside, finding ladybirds and butterflies, birds and flowers, before sitting down for a nice picnic. Finally, after a lovely day spotting animals, they sit down beside the river and gaze up at a wonderful rainbow.

Though this board book is about colours, the warm and expressive illustration provides a simple narrative that takes this classification book into a slightly more sophisticated area than a more usual colours book. The text is still very minimal, though, so it stays at the right level to be read to toddlers.
