Charley's First Night

Publisher: Walker Books

On his first night at home, Charley the puppy is given a guided tour by his new owner, Henry.

Henry’s parents have made it clear who will be feeding Charley (Henry will), who will be walking Charley (Henry again) and exactly where Charley will be sleeping (in the kitchen). When Charley cries in the night, Henry tries his best to be kind but firm but eventually his heart gets the better of his head and Charley ends up sleeping exactly where he wants to.

This charming, gentle picture book is beautifully illustrated in a traditional style and sympathetically describes that special bond between a child and a treasured pet. Full of snowy winter-time scenes, this is a cosy, comforting book to snuggle up and share on cold winter nights.
