Do you have a child who loves to bake?

Even though we are all busy at this time of year, there are lots of ways to make storytime part of what you’re already doing. So if you usually like messing around in the kitchen together, how about trying a recipe and then settling down for a read while it cooks in the oven?

After all, our recent research shows that books about their hobbies can be a great way to get a child into reading and to find it fun.

Bake and read along with Nadiya

Chef, presenter and children’s author Nadiya Hussain has now published something that nicely bridges the gap between pastime and reading. She has written Bake Me a Festive Story: a wonderful combination of storybook and cookbook. 

It's a great idea – so great that we just had to ask her for an exclusive recipe and story from the book.
