National Bookstart Week 2018: Bookstart Bird Boogie

This year, we joined our feathered friends for a Bookstart Bird Boogie and had an absolute blast. Thanks to everyone who held amazing events, created pretty parrots and fabulous flamingos and put the fun into books, rhymes and stories for families everywhere.

Ore Oduba and A Busy Day for Birds

Our chosen book, A Busy Day for Birds by Lucy Cousins, published by Walker Books, was a real hit with little ones, who got to keep their very own copy to share at home.

Don't forget that there are lots of great resources here on the website for you to download and use in your setting, including rhyme and colouring sheets, a bird-themed booklist and recordings of this year's rhymes. All you need to do is choose your resources below, dust off your dance moves and keeeep boogieing!

There's also an amazing Storytime video of the book to watch - a lively and fun reading by Strictly winner and first-time dad Ore Oduba, which includes a British Sign Language version.
