Pori Drwy Stori
Pori Drwy Stori is a bilingual programme for Reception-aged children with a range of abilities that builds upon the popular Bookstart programme, which is aimed at younger children.
The programme is designed and delivered by BookTrust Cymru and is funded by the Welsh Government. Pori Drwy Stori is available to all maintained schools with no sign up necessary.
Sets of resources are delivered to schools, to be used by the Reception teacher in the classroom environment, and to be taken home for families to use together.
The aim is to raise standards in literacy and numeracy and promote parental engagement, supporting the following Foundation Phase areas of learning: language, literature and communication skills, including numbers (mathematical development), personal and social development and well-being and cultural diversity.
Our work supports every family in Wales from their child’s first year of life right through to the end of their Reception year in school, starting with the gift of two BookTrust books in the Bookstart Baby pack.
