Give a £10 book gift and light up a child in care’s Christmas

Christmas is an especially tough time for a child in care. A surprise book gift shows them that someone cares – will you be that someone?

Through our Letterbox Club, we send book parcels out during the year to children in care.

For many children, it may be the first time they have had a letter or parcel through the post – and for some, these may be the first books they’ve owned.

This Christmas, we want to surprise these children, by sending each child a special book gift which they will not be expecting. That’s a total of 9,700 children – can you help us?

Letterbox Club

Inspire a love of reading

Letterbox Club focuses on improving the educational outlook for children aged 5-13 in foster families by providing them with a parcel of books, maths activities and educational materials every month for six months.

Why reading matters

How we make a difference

BookTrust supports children and families to experience the joy of reading and its associated benefits through our programmes and activities.

How to support us

Help us get families reading

A love of books changes lives. Children who read for pleasure are likely to do better at school, as well as be more socially, culturally and emotionally prepared for life.
