Young fans of Doctor Who will be delighted with this chunky anthology, which brings together 11 new Doctor Who stories, one for each of the 11 Doctors, written by some of the biggest names in writing for children and teenagers.
Marcus Sedgwick, Derek Landy, Malorie Blackman, Patrick Ness, Charlie Higson and Philip Reeve are amongst the contributors to the book, published as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the much-loved series. Eoin Colfer kicks things off with a tale of the first doctor, whilst Neil Gaiman's concluding story is likely to be a particular hit with readers already familiar with the episodes Gaiman has written for the TV series.
Doctor Who aficionados will not be disappointed by this collection - there's all the imagination, excitement and quirky humour that viewers of the series have come to expect. The stories themselves are a mixed bag, but the real beauty of this book is the fun of seeing how each author puts their own unique and personal spin on this much-loved institution, providing lots of different takes on the Doctor that fans of all ages will be fascinated to read and discuss.
