The Duff

Seventeen year old Bianca believes her friends are all much more attractive to boys than she is herself. Wesley, a boy whom she hates, confirms this when he tells her she is 'The Duff' - the designated ugly fat friend chosen by other girls to draw attention to themselves.

However, when Bianca's family falls apart, she finds herself unexpectedly entangled in an apparently unfeeling yet cathartic sexual relationship with Wesley. She discovers that he too has underlying family problems which may begin to explain his behaviour, and is reluctantly drawn into a complex relationship.

Including strong language and sex scenes, The Duff is an earthy, realistic and compelling depiction of teenage relationships and self-image.
