This book is part good part bad because it has a slow beginning but if you get into it it's a good book because of the story and very well thought out characters. Kester Jaynes is a little kid that can't talk to people. It is set in the future where there is a virus that has wiped out most of the animals but it turns out he can talk to them.

This book has taken me on an adventure it is incredible the amount of thought this book would have taken and the imagination it isn't true but it is telling what could happen but th wildlife aren't dieing of a virus they are dying of the people but I rate this book full five stars

I think this book is very good, I havn't finished reading it but I am loving it so far. I saw that Piers Torday wrote 2 other book to continue '' The Last Wild '' so i am definatley going to purchase the next books. I reccomend this book to anyone , it is so interesting I cant put it down when i start reading. If it was possible I would of gave way more stars than 5 but unfortunately i cant. This book is amazing and in my favourites. It has a great plot it is about a boy who losses his ability to speak following the death of his mother but he soon and is set at a time were a deadly virus has spread and has wiped out most animals. He then finds that he has a amazing ability to talk to animals when a group of pigeons start blathering to him. It is amazing and I highly recommend it.

This book is a fantastic book I couldn't stop reading it. It was like I was glued to the book and when it ended I wished there was moor pages to read.

I liked the beginning of the book and the description, but , as I got deeper into the story it became boring and monotonous therefore I did not get to finish the book .I also did not like this book because it wasn't the kind of genre I prefer. I would recommend this book to children in years 4-6 and also people who like adventure stories

AMAZING

The Last Wild is very intriguing and exciting. Piers Torday has clearly put time, thought and effort into making this book. The way it is written is amazing! Despite this, I quite like picture books.

I like this book because i like animals and comedy. This book contains both so it is a perfect read. In the first few chapters i like the bit when Kester hears the animals talking and he can understand them. It is a shame that he can't speak properly but i like the fact that the most outvoted characters helped him. I think Piers Torday has done a brilliant job. I will visit the school library or go online to check whether he has written any more books.

This book is a very touching book and can be humorous at times. It is very good and I would recommend it to anybody. It is really AMAZING and I would totally read it again, millions of times!

This is a very amusing book and also very addictive. When I started reading, I could not put the book down! One of the funniest characters(I think)v is the white pigeon. He always says bad things and always the wrong things aswell.

Truly the most exciting book I have read up until now! Great, engaging storyline with well-thought of characters! I especially love the Stag and Cockroach, Major because they have completely opposite personalities but they are still friends! 5 stars anytime!
