Staring into Space: creative activities for children

Former Waterstones Children's Laureate Lauren Child teamed up with talented teacher Josey Scullard to come up with six inspiring ways to get children to think creatively. 

Staring into Space is a brilliant collection of six resources by Lauren Child and Josey Scullard, inspired by some of their favourite children's books. You can use the resources at home, school, in libraries, museum education rooms – or anywhere else you like.

As Lauren Child says:

'It is now widely recognised that creativity is as important as literacy or numeracy, and that allowing ourselves the time, space and freedom to be creative is essential for good mental health... Sometimes we need to stare into space.'
