Making reading connections in your school

Join BookTrust for a free afternoon event exploring how to engage your KS3 students, their families and the wider school community with reading for pleasure.

Featuring local practitioners with on-the-ground experience in schools, these practical sessions are designed to support you to develop new approaches and ideas, and create connections through reading.

At the event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • strengthen your understanding of the important role played by families and wider communities in encouraging children to read for pleasure
  • be inspired by innovative reading projects which are transforming reading communities in local schools
  • identify the barriers which may be preventing some students engaging with reading for pleasure, and take away practical suggestions for overcoming these
  • find out more about how BookTrust’s programmes such as School Library Pack can support you to deliver wider reading initiatives

The events are aimed at School Librarians, LRC Managers or any practitioners interested in promoting reading for pleasure with KS3 students.
