Time to Read for teachers or home educators

Research shows that a child who reads for fun will do better in all subjects, even maths. We can help you encourage reading for pleasure at YOUR school with our Time to Read programme.

Free book for every Reception child in England

From September 2018, every Reception pupil in England will receive Little Monkey by Marta Altés (Macmillan) to enjoy and share at home.

Later in the year...

  • Get more packs for schools:

From this autumn 2018, primary schools who don't receive enough packs for all their Reception students can order more from us directly. The extra packs should be delivered within two weeks of placing an order.
  • Order packs for home educators

Home educators can order packs by filling out an online order form for 4-5 year olds who would be in Reception, were they attending school.
  • Any issues, contact timetoread@booktrust.org.uk

Pupils of every age can also benefit from our blogs, recommended reads and school resources below.
