Tackling child food poverty: Onjali Q Raúf talks to Ewa Jozefkowicz

Published on: 30 Mehefin 2021 Author: Onjali Q Raúf

Our current Writer in Residence, Onjali Q Raúf, chats to fellow children's author Ewa Jozefkowicz about the power of food to unite communities and the terrible situation of hunger that many families face: topics that both write about in their new books.

Thanks to the incredible campaigns led by the hearts of Marcus Rashford, Jack Monroe and Dame Emma Thompson amongst many, the daily realities of children struggling with food poverty has come into the light, and will not be slinking back into the shadows again.

With over 6 million tonnes of food going to waste every year here in the UK, it’s a reality we all know should not exist.

Join me as I speak to the brilliant Ewa Jozefkowicz about her new book The Cooking Club Detectives and my own The Great Food Bank Heist, and the stories that have inspired them.
