The fantastic author Phil Earle, who's work includes the Being Billy and Demolition Dad, became our thirteenth Writer in Residence back in 2016. In this week's blog, Phil Earle talks about the importance of the Letterbox Club.

The Letterbox Club programme offers resources and support for looked-after children in care aged 5-13 years-old. The Demolition Dad author states that Lemn Sissay refers to looked-after children as 'superheroes'.

The BookTrust Writer in Residence finishes by telling a personal story about Sam. Sam was a looked after child who had a very hard early life; he later went on to travel the world.
