April 2020

Find out about children's book events taking place this April.

2 April: Today is Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, which means it's also International Children's Book Day!

4 April: We're really excited about the opening of The Story Museum in Oxford! The museum will open its doors on 4 April, featuring incredible gallery spaces, including The Enchanted Library - a set of eight rooms bringing some of our favourite stories to life. The museum - whose patrons are Malorie Blackman and Philip Pullman - is also host to a 100+ seat theatre, where you'll be able to enjoy puppetry, talks and film screenings. We can't wait to visit!

17-19 April: The Federation of Children's Book Groups will hold their conference on these dates - we can't wait to find out what this year's topics will be.

23 April: One of our favourite nights of the year is here... it's World Book Night! Find out how you can get involved on the website here.

23-26 April: The Chipping Norton Literary Festival will be held on these dates - head to their website for more details on what's coming up, including Korky Paul talking about Winnie and Wilbur and favourite authors like Robin Stevens, Hannah Lee, Kieran Larwood, Maz Evans, Onjali Q Rauf, Peter Bunzl and more making appearances.

25-26 April: It's time for Cardiff Children's Literature Festival - keep an eye on their website for more details.
