WOW! Said the Owl
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
Everyone knows that owls are nocturnal but one curious little owl decides to take a long nap at night so she can stay awake during the day.
What she sees, from the warm, pink glow of dawn through to a day filled with the bright colours of green leaves, blue sky, grey clouds and, finally, a stunning rainbow, makes her exclaim 'WOW!'.
But despite the beauty of the daytime world, the little owl decides that the night-time stars are the most beautiful of all.
Simple text and an endearing character experiencing colour for the first time give an original slant to a first colours book.

This book was given to my daughter, who was 16 months at the time. I thought it might be too old for her but she brings it to me every day saying 'WOW'. She absolutely loves it.

A great way to introduce colours. Very different to the normal 'colour' learning books. Also children can join in with saying ''WOW' said the owl.'

Loved this book about the owl who stayed awake all day and saw the beauties of creation as the colours changed from pink dawn to dark night. Helps children learn to recognise colours while being enchanted with the story.

I liked this book as it had a nice story to it whilst also providing a clear range of colours for baby to look at. The colours are mainly pastel which is a nice contrast to most childrens books.

Brilliant book! I had to work hard to encourage our baby to focus on books and this was THE book that got him hooked. He loved the repeated and enthusiastic use of the word 'wow' and of course the owl. Subsequently his first word was 'owl'.
