What Not to Do If You Turn Invisible
Publisher: Harper Collins
Thirteen-year-old Ethel Leatherhead absolutely hates having acne, and will go to some pretty drastic measures to cure it. While a combination of obscure Chinese medicine and a second-hand sunbed seems to have done the job, it hasn't worked in quite the way she expected.
Ethel has given herself the ability to turn herself invisible at will. Despite being fun at first, one day Ethel's new power fails to wear off. Will she be stuck as invisible forever?
Ross Welford had set himself a high bar after the success of his previous outing, Time Travelling with a Hamster, but he's cleared it with this book. Light on easy gags and full of pathos and moral dilemma, this book is a great parable for the emotional turmoil of puberty.
