Two Shy Pandas

Publisher: Andersen Press

Although Panda has lots of toys, it’s pretty lonely at Number 1 Bamboo Gardens. Panda longs to ask Pandora if she’d like to play, but he’s far too shy to ask. But at Number 2 Bamboo Gardens, Pandora’s also lonely: see-sawing, ball bouncing, truck-racing are all pretty dull without a companion. But when Panda appears, Pandora runs and hides.

One day it snows. Panda throws a snowball over the fence, but Pandora’s not there.  Panda’s worried: is she OK?  Pandora’s not seen Panda either; maybe he’s got flu? Are the two shy pandas brave enough to go and find out?

The anguish of shyness and the joy of overcoming it are delicately expressed in this humorous but sensitive story about friendship, overcoming loneliness and facing your fears. A lovely picture book with a powerful message for the shy and hesitant.
