The Wolf, the Duck and the Mouse

Publisher: Walker Books

When a mouse is swallowed by a wolf, he’s pretty distressed. But in the wolf’s belly, he meets Duck. Duck has made a very comfortable home for himself in the wolf’s belly, and the mouse quickly decides that living there isn’t so bad after all. But as the two celebrate with feasts and dancing, the wolf feels unwell and is quickly found by a hunter. The duck and mouse’s once safe home is now at risk and they will have to save the wolf who has eaten them.

With a resolution reminiscent of Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, this surreal and hilarious picture book could only come from the brilliant pairing of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen.
