Tracy Beaker is a funny, imaginative and articulate ten-year-old girl, but she can also be angry, impulsive and a bit violent too. Tracy lives in a children's home but constantly hopes that her absent, glamorous mum will come and take her away.
One day Cam visits the home, to write a piece on the children. Tracy, being something of a writer herself, resolves to help out. The two form a bond and Tracy begins to wonder if Cam might represent a way out of the home for good.
Tracy's story is told as a series of diary entries, liberally illustrated with doodles and drawings from the pen of Nick Sharratt. She is an endearing narrator and her bouts of temper serve only to make her seem more believable. Both funny and touching by turns, it is easy to see why Tracy's story has become a modern-day classic.

I have to say Tracy beaker has strong opinions of things and I’m nowhere near as daring as her but I found the book funny 😂 anyhow (anyhoo)

i loved this book because tracy is so imaginative and crazy like me and i could understand everything she was going through the whole time i was reading this book. it was also constantly making me laugh and i enjoyed reading it. jacqueline wilson is one of my favourite authors.

Tracy is a very determined girl, she always tells the rest of the care kids that her mum is in Hollywood. And that she will rescue her. But is she telling the truth, will her mum take her out of the care? why don't you find out by reading the book.

Very funny! A great first start for Jacqueline Wilson books! The book's main character, Tracy, is a child in care. She is a little bit self-centered.... but she can't help it... her mum is still alive and a famous model.

Tracy wishes that her beautiful, glamours mother will come back and let her live with her. I think Tracy is brave, and a bit of a tomboy, I loved this book, really imaginative. Jacqueline Wilson is one of my top 3 favorite authors!

This book is a hilarious book and Tracy Beaker is a phenomenal and hilarious character. I recommend this to any age and I found this a beautiful book although it wasn't my favorite.
